Developing and Utilizing Common Assessments for Administrators

Participants will learn practical methods for creating common assessments aligned with Standards, emphasizing validity, reliability, and enthusiasm, and will be equipped to lead teachers in developing assessments and using student results for data-driven instruction.

This workshop addresses the central question: How do we know what students know and are able to do at every grade level? Administrators are guided through practical methods to help teachers design common assessments that reflect both content and skills aligned to Standards. The workshop emphasizes the creation of balanced, valid, and reliable assessments while fostering enthusiasm and buy-in from teachers. Participants are also introduced to processes they can turnkey to staff, ensuring teachers not only build effective assessments but also use student results to drive meaningful, data-informed instruction.
