Workshop Description
This workshop engages educators in developing a deep understanding of standards-based instruction and how to effectively align teaching, learning, and assessment to clearly defined academic standards. Participants will learn how to break standards into student-friendly learning targets with clear success criteria, and design aligned instructional experiences that promote depth of understanding. Through collaborative activities, educators will examine best practices for creating formative and summative assessments, analyzing student data to inform instructional decisions, and utilizing strategies for differentiation and targeted support. The session also emphasizes providing meaningful, standards-aligned feedback and creating opportunities for student revision, while building structures that promote student ownership of learning. By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with practical tools and strategies to implement a cohesive, standards-based approach in their classrooms.
