This workshop equips school staff with the tools and strategies necessary to identify, prevent, and address Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB) within school communities. It explores the nuances between harassment, intimidation, and bullying, highlighting the social and emotional impact these behaviors can have on students. Participants learn proactive prevention techniques, intervention strategies, and methods for engaging families and the broader school community in cultivating a safe and inclusive environment. The session emphasizes the counselor’s evolving role in fostering a climate of empathy, equity, and cultural responsiveness.

Key Learnings

  1. Identifying and Responding to HIB

    Staff will gain strategies to cultivate a culturally responsive and inclusive school environment through practices such as identity mapping, promoting diversity, and implementing social-emotional learning programs.
