Understanding Self-Regulation

Participants will explore self-regulation skills and their positive impact on academics, behavior, relationships and mental health.

This workshop helps educators explore and implement strategies to support students’ self-regulation skills—a foundational element of academic and life success. Participants will examine how self-regulation impacts learning, behavior, and mental health, and will deepen their understanding of how students acquire these skills. Through interactive activities and collaborative reflection, educators will leave with evidence-based strategies and tools to foster self-regulation in their classrooms.

Core Needs Addressed

  • Students struggling to cope with stress, emotional disruptions, and challenging social situations.

  • Lack of explicit instruction or consistent support for self-regulation in classroom environments.

  • Increased behavioral challenges linked to external stressors and internal dysregulation.
