The Workshop Model for Effective Mathematics Instruction

This workshop presents a rationale and structure for implementing a Guided Mathematics Program through experiencing a walkthrough of a sample workshop structure to truly understand what to do, why to do it, and how to implement each step in the process.

This workshop presents a rationale and structure for implementing a Guided Mathematics program. Participants will experience a walkthrough of a sample workshop structure to truly understand what to do, why to do it, and how to implement each step in the process. The second half of the workshop focuses on one of the most important and often challenging aspects of a Guided Mathematics program: center activities. Center activities include using technological tools, fact fluency stations, problem solving stations, place value stations, measurement stations, vocabulary stations, review and practice stations, math literature, and math journals.
