Cultivating Grit in Our Students: Promoting Perseverance in the Classroom and Beyond

Participants will gain a deep understanding of what grit is, why it’s important for student success, and how it can be taught and cultivated in the classroom.

It’s no secret that passion and perseverance are essential to success, but we are currently seeing less and less of these traits in our students.  This decline, however, can be reversed if we recognize that grit is a performance value that can be taught.

In this workshop, participants will learn why passion and perseverance are vital for success and how these traits can be cultivated in the classroom. Explore new research on grit, achievement, motivation, and resilience, and discover actionable strategies to promote grit, foster a growth mindset, and set challenging goals. Collaborate with colleagues, share best practices, and receive a toolkit of resources for immediate implementation. Walk away equipped to elevate your instruction, providing students with the essential grit needed for success in and beyond the classroom. Join us in reversing the decline of these crucial traits and empowering students to thrive.
