As rates of adverse childhood experiences continue to increase, so do their impact on academic and behavioral outcomes. This interactive workshop will help educators identify the many traumatic experiences that students may experience and how the brain and body respond to these stressors.

As rates of adverse childhood experiences continue to increase, so do their impact on academic and behavioral outcomes. This interactive workshop will help educators identify the many traumatic experiences that students may experience and how the brain and body respond to these stressors. Participants will explore a variety of strategies and tools, with a focus on promoting protective factors and resiliency. Participants will also identify how the experience of trauma can affect both themselves and the school climate overall, and how schools can use trauma-sensitive practices as a way to create positive outcomes for all.
