An Administrator's Guide to Social Emotional Learning

School and district administrators are integral parts to the effectiveness of social emotional education.

School and district administrators are integral parts to the effectiveness of social emotional education. This workshop begins with an overview of New Jersey's Social Emotional Competencies as part of the Standards that schools use to guide their curriculum and instruction. Participants will discuss evidence on the benefits of SEL in schools and leave with a thorough understanding of WHAT these competencies mean and HOW to include the SEL competencies at a school level. Participants will take an in-depth look at each of the five competencies (Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness,Responsible Decision-Making, and Relationship Skills) by reviewing best practices, lesson plans and curriculum resources.
