Debra Hancock is an educational consultant who collaborates with teachers and administrators to provide coaching and support in K-8 mathematics, as well as analyzing assessment data to improve instruction.
Debra believes all students can learn to love mathematics. They can become skilled mathematicians when provided with a numeracy enriched environment and engaged in problem solving opportunities on a daily basis. She has focused her coaching on cultivating both of these areas.
Debra has developed comprehensive training on lesson planning for targeted small group instruction, provided guidance on purposeful math centers/stations, supported teachers on developing formative assessments and has customized Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings based on data and instructional needs.
When she is not consulting, Debra enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.
