This course focuses on how teachers can improve student achievement by first improving their attitude toward their students, their classroom, and their academic content. This workshop begins with a discussion about the definition of “attitude” and how it is crucial to high student achievement. For the achievement gap to close, the attitude gap must close first. Specifically, participants will take a deep dive into research to understand what factors contribute to students who strive for excellence as well as factors contributing to students who don’t. Using hands-on activities, video clips and application, these revelations will empower the teachers to develop strategies for improved teacher-student relationships to make students excited about themselves, learning, and success.
