Application of the Math Standards in the 21st Century Classroom

A deep dive of the NJSLS Math standards will be conducted during this workshop, with a focus on the 4 C’s (creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical-thinking).

In order for students to be successful in the 21st Century, learning must focus on application and deeper thinking about material presented. Those skills that will help students be successful in the world must be directly instructed and practiced. A deep dive of the NJSLS math standards (by grade or by grade level cluster) will be conducted during this workshop, with a focus on the 4 C’s (creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical-thinking).  Participants will engage in hands-on activities as they work with sample questions using best practices. The importance of connecting standards to one another and to real world scenarios is emphasized as well.
